Discover 3 key ways to help employees from marginalized communities get equitable healthcare experiences.
Read nowVirtual-forward healthcare models are on the rise, ushering in new possibilities for care delivery. These solutions empower consumers by offering flexible in-person and virtual care options and help close health equity gaps by reducing barriers to care.
Accolade Care serves as the engine for a virtual forward health plan strategy, enabling coordinated care teams of Accolade physicians, nurses and health coaches to help members manage their healthcare and achieve their wellness goals.
Accolade’s Advanced Primary Care model is designed with the member and Care Team relationship in mind and starts with connecting members early on to a virtual primary care physician who best meets their needs. Members can choose their primary care physician based on criteria including gender, race, years of experience and language. All of Accolade’s virtual primary care physicians are board certified in a primary care specialty. Across our practice, Accolade maintains a 90% NPS score.
Accolade’s primary care physicians are supported by a team of nurses and health assistants who work together to help the member with their care journey. More than 60% of Accolade’s Care Team members are female, 40% are Black, Indigenous, or people of color, and members can choose physicians with experience in providing support to LGBTQIA+ individuals.
During the partner selection process for their new virtual-forward benefits plan, Virtual Blue, Blue Shield of California sought a partner equally committed to improving clinical outcomes and who would work with their community networks and ecosystem partners.
