Investing in Entrepreneurial Talent: A Conversation with PA Governor Wolf
By Accolade Marketing
Last week, Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf visited Accolade's Plymouth Meeting headquarters and announced plans to create 250 new, full-time jobs as part of our regional office expansion.
During his hour-long visit, Gov. Wolf toured Accolade's facility, met with new Health Assistant hires and hosted an employee roundtable to discuss his budget investments in job creation, economic development, and growing the middle-class.
The discussion - which included Accolade CFO Steve Barnes and COO Jack Stoddard, among others - delved into key factors for recruiting talent to the region. Gov. Wolf pointed to facilitating an entrepreneurial environment, backed by strong training and education programs, as critical pieces for attracting and retaining companies providing jobs in Pennsylvania.
📷“I'm trying to do the things that create an environment that is really attractive for people who want to create jobs,” said Gov. Wolf. “We're going to actually live within our means, but we're also not going to stiff education. I'm going to add to education because I want companies like [Accolade] to have access to absolutely the finest, most educated people we can give them.”
After starting with 17 employees, our company is now close to 800, with more than 500 in Pennsylvania, and we continue to invest in the technology and people backing this entrepreneurial spirit. Gov. Wolf's funding is going towards expanding our employee base across all business units and providing our Health Assistants access to additional technology to help them better serve our clients in getting the best healthcare outcomes.
